The Pavilion, Shepherd's Bush
I found myself locked out one afternoon, so the only option was to head to The Pavilion and wait it out.
The pub is surprisingly spacious for a London venue, with a decent semi-covered garden out the back. Inside, there are screens for watching sports, which makes it clear this is a QPR pub. I imagine matchdays see the occasional crowd of fans, which would lift the atmosphere, as it was a bit quiet during my visit.
First impressions
The interior is typical Greene King: clean, well-maintained, and functional. It’s the kind of pub that delivers what you expect without any surprises.
Drinks
They have the usual Greene King lineup on tap. I opted for a Guinness, which was solid and exactly what I wanted while waiting around.
Atmosphere
Without a game on, the place felt a little subdued, but the space and garden make it a comfortable spot to pass the time. On matchdays, I suspect the energy would be very different.
Verdict
The Pavilion delivers a no-nonsense pub experience. It’s not flashy, but it’s dependable, with space to spread out and the comfort of familiar beers. Perfect for a quiet pint or catching a game.
Rating: 3 out of 5 A functional, spacious pub that works well as a casual stop in Shepherd’s Bush.
